North Cornwall’s spectacular coastline includes many fine beaches and coves.

There is something for everyone to enjoy.  All have stunning scenery and access to fantastic clifftop walks as part of the South West Coastal Path. 

Further down the North Cornwall coast are the historic villages of Boscastle and Tintagel, Port Issac and Padstow.

Bude (7 Miles)
A wonderful coastal town with activities for all ages. The beaches of Crookletts and Summerleaze, seawater swimming pool, the Canal and Breakwater, Bude has much to offer.

Also to be enjoyed is crazy golf, tennis courts, children's play areas and for the wet days, on the outskirts town you will find the Splash Pool with wave machine and slide and Harlequinns with an indoor children’s soft play area, and ten-pin bowling.

Sandymouth (11 miles) Dog Friendly

Sandymouth is situated 3 miles to the north of Bude, near the Cornwall-Devon border. A large pebble beach owned by the National Trust, at low tide Sandymouth reveals large stretches of sand, from which the beach takes its' name, and numerous rock pools. Backed by high cliffs, the beach is set in a secluded location.

You access to the beach is via a winding path from the car park, where a café and toilets are located. Sandymouth is a dog-friendly beach and is patrolled by lifeguards in the summer.

Widemouth Bay (13 miles) Dog Friendly (Restrictions)

Widemouth Bay is along open bay, with an interesting beach. With a large sandy stretch to the north (exposed more as the tide lowers), and either side of this there are to be found some amazing rock formations.
Widemouth is ideal for families, swimming, surfing or body boarding., it also offers some great restaurants and cafes, just off the road adjoining the beach.

Crackington Haven (20 miles) Dog Friendly (Out of Season)

Ideal for families, swimming, walking and rambling, with excellent facilities. Crackington Haven is an ideal spot for families, with the upper beach mainly pebbles, with rock pools to the western edge. There are excellent facilities, including cafes and restaurants in which you can enjoy the stunning scenery.

Northcott Mouth (10 miles) Dog Friendly

Ruggedly beautiful, Northcott is a rocky cove, with a sandy beach which emerges when the tide is out. At low tide, it reveals the wreck of the SS Belem. Wrecked in November 1917, This beach is owned and managed by the National Trust and has a  small car park adjacent to it with an “honesty” box for contributions.. In the summer months, there is a delightful tea caravan with charming garden, just back from the beach.

Duckpool (8 miles) Dog Friendly

Nestled between high cliffs, with the imposing Steeple Point to the right, Duckpool , one of the most attractive and dramatic coves in the area. The beach is accessed via the woodland of Coombe Valley.

With higher tides the beach is made up of pebbles, but as the tide drops sand and rocks are revealed. The northern end of the beach has an abundance of rock pools which are ideal for poking around in for crabs and the likes.

Welcombe Mouth (13 miles) Dog Friendly (Restrictions)

A secluded and quiet bay located at the end of a rough unmade road. A small car park gives access to one of the loveliest beaches near Hartland.

Accessed via narrow lanes, but it is worth the effort. Sandy from mid tide onwards, it also offers some excellent rock pools.
