Families at The Old Shippon

At The Old Shippon, Dunsdon Farm we pride ourselves on our facilities for families with young children. The Old Shippon is a luxury family friendly holiday cottage in Devon. suitable for babies and toddlers. 

For families with babies, we provide a baby pack in which we have fitted stairgates, a travel cot, high, high chair, and baby monitor. (Extras such as plug protectors are also available on request). To make life easier for mum and dad, the kitchen is complete with a washer/dryer and dishwashers. For entertainment we also have a BluRay/DVD players and a range of digital TV channels.

For the older children we also have a gallery, they can use as their own space, complete with bookshelves and beanbags, and also available on the TV is a direct link to our owl cam which is situated in the owl box on the barn directly opposite.(we had two fledglings last year).

Outside at The Old Shippon there is a secure fenced garden, mainly laid to lawn with flower borders and two patio areas, perfect for those summer barbecues.

As a working farm we also have animals including our Donkeys, Santa and Lola, our Highland cows, Geraldine, Letticia and Alice (due to calf soon) and horses.

Dunsdon Farm also adjoins the Dunsdon National Nature Reserve, an area of rare culm grassland supporting a diverse range of flora and fauna, a great place for all of the family to get closer to nature.

We wish to encourage families with young children and are always interested to hear of ways to further improve our facilities in this area, and become the first choice for child friendly holiday cottages in Devon.
