As dog owners ourselves we realise that your “best friend” needs to enjoy their holiday as well as you, we are are please to be able to offer pet friendly holidays in Devon.  The North Devon countryside, along with the North Cornwall coast (only 6 miles away) offer a great place for you and your dog to explore.

at The Old Shippon

As one of the most pet friendly cottages in Devon, The Old Shippon at Dunsdon Farm has its own private entrance and large secure dog friendly garden.

For your dog’s comfort we provide a dog pack, which includes:
Dog Bed
Dog Bowls
Dog Crate (Large)
Towels
Sofa Throws
Bucket & Brush for Washing

We make an additional charge of £25.00 per dog, payable at time of booking .  We only ask that dogs are kept of the furniture and beds (but have provided sofa throws, because we know what they can be like).  Also dogs must not be left unattended in the property (at any time).

Dogs and Their Owners - Things to Do

Devon and Cornwall are very dog friendly counties, dogs are allowed in many of the pubs in the locality and most of the beaches welcome dogs all year round. (certain beaches and times may require dogs to be on leads).

Many of the local attractions make provision for dogs, and dogs are welcome in the grounds of most of the National Trust properties within Devon and Cornwall.

Walking Your Dog Locally

Dunsdon Farm adjoins the Dunsdon National Nature Reserve (which welcomes dogs on leads), also ½ mile both ways from the farm you can walk the Bude Canal or drive the short distance to the coast where you have the beautiful coastal path and beaches, or take a trip inland to the moors of Dartmoor (17 miles) and Bodmin (27miles).
Also The Ruby Trail which crosses a lot of local dog friendly Forestry Commission Land.
